Introduction
AudioPeel (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a video-to-audio converter application for Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Files You Process
- Video files: When you select a video for conversion, we temporarily access the file to extract audio. Files are processed locally on your device.
- Audio files: Converted audio files are saved to your device’s storage.
- Storage: We do NOT upload, store, or transmit your media files to any external servers.
2. Device Permissions
We request the following permissions based on your Android version:
Android 13+ (Granular Media Permissions):
- READ_MEDIA_VIDEO: To read video files you select for conversion. This is our app’s core functionality.
- READ_MEDIA_AUDIO: To save converted audio files to your device.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES: Declared in the app manifest but not intentionally used by our app. This permission may be requested by underlying media libraries.
Android 9-12 (Legacy Storage):
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To access video files you select (replaced by granular permissions in Android 13+).
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To save converted audio files (not required on Android 10+).
All Android Versions:
- Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To show conversion progress notifications.
- Internet Access: Required for displaying advertisements.
3. Advertising Data
- We use Google AdMob to display ads in the app.
- AdMob may collect device identifiers, usage data, and location data for ad personalization.
- You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).

4. App Usage Data
- Conversion history: We store metadata about your conversions (file names, dates, settings) locally on your device for the history feature.
- App preferences: Your quality settings and preferences are stored locally.
- Crash reports: Anonymous crash reports may be collected to improve app stability.
- File Processing: To convert videos to audio files as requested.
- App Functionality: To save your preferences, show conversion history, and display notifications.
- Advertising: To show relevant ads that support free app development.
- App Improvement: To fix bugs and enhance features.
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All your files and conversion history are stored ONLY on your device.
- No Cloud Upload: We do NOT upload your videos or audio files anywhere.
- Data Deletion: You can delete conversion history anytime from the History screen, or uninstall the app to remove all data.

- Provides advertising services
- May collect device info, location, and usage patterns

- Used for video-to-audio conversion
- Processes files locally, no data collection

Children’s Privacy
AudioPeel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.
Data Retention
- Conversion History: Stored on your device until you manually delete it or uninstall the app.
- Preferences: Stored until you reset them or uninstall the app.
- Ad Data: Managed by Google AdMob (see their retention policies).
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View your conversion history in the app.
- Delete: Clear history or uninstall the app to remove all data.
- Opt-Out: Disable personalized ads in device settings.
Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted here with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
